| 1 mm cube | No error | Clean solid | Sliced, 5 layers |
| 40 × 20 mm wall, 0.2 mm thick | The print is empty. … | Clean solid, half a line thick | Not sliced |
| 40 × 20 × 12 mm block | No error | Clean solid | Sliced, 60 layers |
What is going on
Bambu Studio raises this when it plans the print and finds no extrusions at all (source). Slightly different sizes fail differently: a 0.3 mm cube stopped with the empty initial layer error instead, and a part thinner than the first layer gets "No layers were detected". PrusaSlicer uses the same wording (source).
FixSTL reported every part here as a clean solid and showed its size; it does not thicken walls or scale parts.
What was actually wrong
How to fix it
- Check the object's size in Bambu Studio: parts under about 1 mm may have nothing printable.
- Make walls, pins and text at least one line wide (0.4 mm with the standard nozzle) in your modelling program.
- If the part was scaled down by mistake, scale it back up and slice again.
- Check the file in FixSTL: it shows the part's size, but it does not thicken thin features.
