Bambu Studio 02.08.02.61, macOS, command line: --info gives the object-list counts; slices used the A1 0.4 mm, 0.20 mm Standard profile, supports off. "Same filament" compares G-code from the original and from FixSTL's repair. Nothing was printed.

What is going on

The warning comes from the same support check as "floating cantilever" (source). In our test it flagged a tip hanging under an arm: the tip starts below everything around it, so its first layer has nothing under it.

Separate parts that float above the rest are different: they leave layers with nothing in them, which Bambu Studio reports as an empty layer and refuses to slice.

What was actually wrong

How to fix it

  1. Slice with supports off and scrub the layer preview to find where a region starts in mid-air.
  2. Enable supports, or rotate the part so that region rests on the plate or on the layers below it.
  3. If the region is a stray piece that should not exist, delete it in your modelling program.
